The Murray and Edward Rivers and Gulpa Creek are all within 10km of Mathoura and are prized fishing grounds by anglers throughout Australia. Information guides are available from the Visitor Centre and licenses and bait are available from local agents. Mathoura also has an annual fishing competition.
